Phil Willburn – Networked Leadership

The Long Awaited Posting of My Glorious 2013 Whitepaper ‘A Leader’s Network’

Ok, this is a long time coming, but I am finally getting around to posting the white paper I wrote this year.

Interestingly, this paper originated from the blog posts I did on this site – starting with Leadership Networks: One Size Does Not Fit All This definitely speaks to the great power of writing a blog and seeing what people connect and react to.

I want to thank Kristen Cullen for helping write this with me. She is a rock star network researcher.

These ideas were also originally presented at the Network Roundtable conference presented by Activate Networks in Washington DC this past April.

During the conference Rob Cross, Ron Burt, and Chris Ernst made some useful comments to me on how to progress these ideas – and lastly I have to thank Nick Petrie for listening to me talk about this idea for months.

So here it is, the official whitepaper on A Leader’s Network: How to Help Your Talent Invest in the

Right Relationships at the Right Time  – yes, CCL came up with that title – sure it’s a catchy – I of course wanted something a little more descriptive of the content – like the network challenges leaders face at different stages in their career – but alas, they are much better marketers than I am.

Download it here:

Anyways, enjoy, let me know what you think. And if you want to use any of the content reach out to me willburnp@ccl.org and let’s talk about how I can help you use it.
